Why Does Kinky Curly Human Hair Seem So High Maintenance?

Kinky curly human hair is produced to mimic natural African American hair. There are different variants of kinky curly such as kinky curly and afro kinky curly. The difference between the two is simply the tightness of the curl pattern, with afro kinky curly having the tighter curl pattern. Like our natural hair, kinky curly textures require a lot of moisture. Without it your hair will ball up and die…literally. Since it is prone to tangle, keeping your hair moisturized will prevent it from doing so.

How is Kinky Curly human hair processed?

Kinky curly hair is chemically or steam processed to achieve the curl pattern. The safest and best way to process it is the steam process because it is less harsh on the hair. It can be processed from any origin of virgin human hair including Chinese, Brazilian, Mongolian, and Malaysian. It is best to complete this process on virgin human hair that is naturally durable such as Asian hair because it will be able to withstand the process.

How do I take care of my Kinky Curly human Hair?

All kinky curly is not created equal so therefore it may take some experimenting with different products on your behalf before you can devise a regime for your hair. The key to healthy Kinky Curly hair is moisture. Once it dries out it can become your worst enemy. You may want to invest in a good leave in conditioner or you can make your own concoction. At night it is best to do big twists to keep the hair stretched while sleeping. Keeping the hair stretched will minimize the occurrence of mats and tangles. Also a denman brush will become your best friend with this texture. I personally never EVER use a comb on kinky curly, I lightly detangle with a denman brush (while the hair is wet) at night and in the morning before starting my day.

So long story short, as long as you are good to your kinky curly human hair it will be good to you! It may take some trial and error at first to develop a routine but once you are successful this may become your staple texture. So what are you waiting for, it’s time to go KINKY!
