5 Ways to Care For and Grow Your Edges While Wearing Virgin Human Hair Extensions

As much as we love our virgin human hair extensions we can all agree that we love our natural hair even more! Therefore it is important that we still take good care of our natural locks underneath our hair extensions. The most fragile part of our hair is usually our edges and if they are not cared for properly, they can potentially be destroyed due to tension by some of our preferred styles. We have a few suggestions for products and techniques that can nurture and promote the growth of your edges.

Castor Oil

Jamaican Black Castor Oil is a favorite among most extension wearing ladies because it works wonders with hair growth. Massage your edges a few times a week with this product and you will see results fairly quickly. Regular Castor oil (also referred to as white castor oil) also works well though it is not as potent as black castor oil.

Vitamins

Hair, nail, and skin vitamins are also a good choice for not only growing your hair but maintaining its health and length as well. You take these three times per day with meals. For optimum growth combine these vitamins with the regular use of castor oil. These vitamins can be purchased at Wal-Mart for around $7.00 per bottle.

Wigs

Wearing wigs can also relieve the tension that sew-ins can have on your edges. Wigs can be applied in a variety of ways such as using clips, combs, or adhesive. You may also find it helpful to wear a mesh wig cap instead of a nylon wig cap under your wigs as they have less stress on your edges.

Coconut Oil

Coconut oil is a great natural product that can promote hair growth. Simply massage the oil into your edges a few times a week to grow and maintain them.

Leave them Out!

Sometimes the best remedy for thinning edges is to simply leave them out when applying human hair extensions. Too much manipulation can be harmful especially when failing to properly care for your hair.

Whether you wear virgin human hair extensions or not, these tips can be very helpful in getting your edges to thrive. Healthy hair is a goal for most ladies and we hope that we have given you a place to start in your healthy hair journey.
